Configuring Outlook Express

  • Select TOOLS -> ACCOUNTS
  • Select ADD -> MAIL
  • Enter your name "First Last" <NEXT>
  • Enter your email address "name@yourDomain.com" <NEXT>
  • Select POP or IMAP per the discussion on this page
  • Set the "Incoming mail server" to "mail.yourDomain.com"
  • Set the "Outgoing mail server" to "mail.yourDomain.com"
  • Press <NEXT>
  • Set the "Account name" to "user@yourDomain.com"
  • Press <NEXT>, <FINISH>
  • Select the new account from the list and press <PROPERTIES>
  • Select the SERVERS tab
  • In the "Outgoing Mail Server" area, put a checkmark by "My Server requires authentication"
  • If you are setting up an IMAP account:
    • Select the IMAP tab
    • Set the "Root Folder path" to "Inbox"
    • Set the "Sent Items path" to "Sent"
    • Set the "Drafts path" to "Saved"
  • Press <OK>
